When I was a kid, I BEGGED my parents for a cat. We always had cats, but I wanted my own cat. I wrote a long winded note and taped it to my door, asking my parents to consider my request, that I would feed the cat, clean up after it, etc. but anyone who knows a child, knows that it would be another undertaking of my parents. I don’t think it took much arm twisting, like I said, we always had a handful of cats when I was growing up (and I have 4 of my own now).
I remember my mom and I looked in the newspaper for people advertising that they had kittens, yes I am that old that we used the newspaper! We found ourselves at a lady’s house and she had an adorable litter of kittens. I wanted all of them, but one stuck out to me, probably because she was so small. I left the lady’s house with my runt kitten in tow, a cat that I would have for 20 years. My mom asked me what I wanted to name her, and one name was all I considered, Kit Kat.
I couldn’t tell you if Kit Kats were my favorite at the time, but the two will forever be attached together. Kit Kats are definitely a go to candy for me, especially with the addition of the dark chocolate flavor. Dark chocolate, a candy that I can snap apart and eat methodically? I. Am. In.
When you open the packaging of these cuties, you are immediately met with the smell of berry. Pastel pink with bits of pieces of fruity cereal are really pleasing to the eye. Also I know it is definitely a licensing thing, but I feel like it was a little bit of a missed opportunity by not calling it Frooty Cereal!
The white chocolate is very soft which I remember the Party Ice Cream Kit Kats being the same way. The chocolate is smooth and has a great texture with the wafer part and the cereal bits. The flavor is strong but not overpowering, no distinct fruit flavor that you can pick out, but a nice blend of berry flavoring. Essentially, the overall flavor of these are stronger flavored cereal milk after you’ve eaten all the cereal. I think this is a great white chocolate offering to add to their permanent line up if they decide to keep it around.
Don’t steal my fingerprints to do crimes, it’s hotter than hot in here in California, and everything remotely melty is right on the edge of it’s seat of falling apart in your hands and my Kit Kats are no exception in this heat right now. I would definitely buy these again, and now that I am thinking about it, I should probably put a few in the fridge for a late night snack!
Good Afternoon everyone! I hope everyone has enjoyed the last weekend of August. How is that even possible?! It was March and now its August – the time in between? Gone.
Somewhat recently Kellogg’s released a line of Jumbo Snax, touted as a way to snack on cereal in fun big boy way. The debut flavors (I have no idea if they will release others) are Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, and Tiger Paws. One of these things is not like the other though… Tiger Paws are not an existing cereal, so clearly I opted to buy that flavor since I definitely have poured all of the other cereals into my mouth straight from the box.
These definitely remind me of the Cheetos Paws upon first glance. The pouch feels empty in your hands until you open it and actually find that its filled with little paws. They are about the size of a quarter and you get about two dozen to a pouch.
Truth be told, I have been trying to write this review for about two weeks now, but could not come up with anything exciting about these. All in all, these are fine. They are crunchy and sweet, what you would expect from a solid form of Frosted Flakes. At 50 calories for an entire pouch, these are a great little sweet pick me up for a sweet tooth like me without completely breaking the calorie bank. Like the Cheetos Paws (and puffs) I like to suck the air out of them and then eat them like a weirdo.
All in all, I would consider buying these again. I find the packaging a little frivolous since I could buy a box of cereal for the same price and pour it into reusable containers. But for a quick sweet snack on the go, these would do the job, and I guess if you were feeling really wild, you could pour a tiny amount of milk into these if you were craving a bowl of cereal but had none on hand. Another great application would probably be on ice cream!
Hey everyone – Are any of you fans of having cereal for dinner? There is something about having breakfast for dinner that makes it taste so much better than if you sit down half asleep and pour yourself a bowl of your favorite cereal after a restless night. Maybe thats the key right there, it tastes better at night because you’re more awake, or you’re starving – one of the two.
I noticed that General Mills came out with a handful of new cereals at the same time, but the one that really caught my eye was the Peanut Butter Toast Crunch. Cinnamon Toast Crunch was a staple in my house as a kid growing up. I remember devouring a bowl of it every few mornings while watching Mr. Wizard. (and if you don’t know who that is, I implore you to watch a few episodes on YouTube or watch this awesome video right here.) I enjoy my cereal with more cereal than milk, which helps retain its delicious sugary outside.
If my memory serves me correctly, there really hasn’t been much that has been changed in regards to the _______ Toast Crunch genre, so I did a quick double take when I saw this on a large display at Walmart. My brain couldn’t really wrap around Peanut Butter Toast Crunch and even as I poured myself a bowl, I was expecting to taste cinnamon and sugar, despite it being completely different. Much like Cinnamon Toast Crunch the outside of the cereal has a visible grainy coating. I added my unflavored soy milk and took a huge bite. I was really surprised by the taste. It is not overly peanut buttery with a nice sweet undertone, with a nice crunch from the cereal. Before I knew it I had eaten the entire bowl in a blink of an eye and decided to have a second, which is pretty rare when it comes to cereal, even my most favorite of cereals. I think the only way that this could have been any better would be if you used chocolate milk instead of regular.
Texture: 4/5 – The grainy outside does not make this cereal unpleasant. Like the original, it has a nice crunch to it.
Smell: 3/5 – This cereal smells like a peanut butter cookie.
Appearance: 3/5 – Appearance wise, this looks similar to its big brother. I don’t think there is really much you can do to change the way this cereal looks and keep with the branding.
Taste: 5/5 – I really liked this cereal and cannot wait to try it with a little bit of chocolate soy milk (YUM!) The peanut butter mixed with slight sweetness and crunch makes it a decent breakfast cereal for the kids at heart without being exceptionally sugary like most kids cereals are. My only beef is that it has a slight greasy texture after eating, if that makes any sense. I would definitely buy this again. And again.
